Extention does not exist

i went through the admin guide and the userguide, when i try to dial the number, I get a recording "The ext. does not exist" i am running a cisco VIOP system

It seems that there is configuration issue somewhere
create a new user, configure your trunk, add balance to your account number and make a try again
